Do you have a website already? Did you have it designed several years ago and it looked great for its day, but due to the speed of technological advancement it now looks old-fashioned and in desperate need of a makeover?

The point is even though it is desirable to have a website, if you don't have one it won't hurt your business. However, if you have a stale looking, dated website compared to your competitors it won't do you any favours.
When browsing the web it is obvious which sites are being looked after and which sites are neglected. The 'looked after' ones are constantly improved and refreshed and grab your attention, and the neglected ones have a copyright notice that displays a date from 5 years ago. Which category do you want your site to be in?
You may not spend much time thinking about your website, but it's still there and people are still looking at it. It's worth giving it a bit of attention from time to time.
Having a browse at websites that belong to the same genre at yours will very quickly give you an indication of where your own site is lacking. Maybe it just needs a bit of 'refreshing' here and there or it needs a complete overhaul.
For example, if you have visited this website before you will have spotted that it has recently had a makeover of its own. The site is not drastically different, we just noticed there was room for improvement and we wanted to add a few extra features (such as an online website design quote facility).
This website will continue to grow, that's the good thing about the Internet – it is an infinite, dynamic medium. A website is never finished, it's an ongoing process that never ends.
Of course it depends on the nature of your website as to how often and to what extent it needs changing, but you should at least have someone to update the copyright notice each year!
